"While the plan set forward today is not perfect, it is a step in the right direction. H.R. 1314, the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015 brings certainty to our appropriations process, strengthens our national security, and protects our troops while constructively resolving multiple outstanding issues.

With over $18 trillion in national debt, Washington's spending problem is out of control. The spending caps and other reductions included in the agreement remain on track to save more than $2 trillion as mandated by the Budget Control Act while preventing a dangerous default that would threaten our economy. This plan provides economic stability critical to strengthening our economy.

Only Congress has the authority to fund the federal government and as a Member of the House Appropriations Committee, I stand ready to implement the details of this agreement. The Committee is committed to ensuring the appropriations process is completed by the December deadline."
