Congresswoman Matsui and the Institute of Museum and Library Services announced today that Sacramento's Crocker Art Museum is the recipient of $149,735 in new federal funding to implement an Early Childhood Education Initiative entitled "Art Spots."
The project will be a collaborative effort between early childhood professionals and museum educators, who will focus on improving the museum experience for visitors of all ages. Families with young children will be the targeted audience.
"I am pleased that the Crocker Art Museum is actively engaging audiences of all backgrounds and ages in the arts" said Congresswoman Matsui. "This federal funding will allow the Crocker to offer a new, more interactive exhibit that will expose children to the arts at a young age."
