Today, Congressman Marc Veasey, TX-33, a member of the House Armed Services Committee, introduced H.R. 3949, the Veterans STEM Education Program Act of 2015, which would provide additional authority to the Veterans Affairs Secretary to grant funds to post 9/11 veterans seeking to obtain a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields.
"As a nation we must repay our veterans for their military service by easing their transition from military to civilian life. For many of our nation's veterans, additional studies in the STEM field can enhance the technical training that they received in the military and help them secure well-paying jobs as they re-enter the workforce."
