The Air Force announced Tuesday that it is considering delaying the retirement of the A-10 Warthog aircraft.

Rep. Ruben Gallego released the following statement:

"As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I was proud to vote to preserve funding for the A-10 Warthog and I am pleased today to hear that the Air Force is considering delaying the retirement of this critical aircraft.

The A-10 plays a vital role in flying missions in support of our troops on the ground and is an important part of our current military strategy. Retiring the Warthog before we have a fully operational replacement would put our troops in unnecessary danger."
