Ayotte Votes in Favor of Bill to Audit the Federal Reserve

Today, U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte voted in favor of the Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2015, which she cosponsored early last year. The bill was introduced by Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and would require a full audit of the Federal Reserve. Senator Ayotte also cosponsored previous versions of the bill. Unfortunately the bill failed on a 53 to 44 vote.

"New Hampshire taxpayers deserve to know exactly how their money is being spent in Washington, and the Audit the Fed bill would bring much-needed transparency and oversight to our nation's central banking agency," said Ayotte. "I will keep pushing my colleagues to move forward on this important bill and other measures that would improve accountability regarding how the government spends taxpayer dollars."
