U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) today welcomed the announcement of a new Federal grant for the Hillsborough County Adult Drug Court -- Southern District based in Nashua. The grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is $324,997 per year for the next three years, and will allow the court to hire more staff, expand the type of treatment services offered, and serve more participants.
"The crisis of heroin and opioid abuse is the most urgent public health challenge facing our state," said Shaheen. "Investing in proven programs, like the Hillsborough County Southern District Adult Drug Court, is key to tackling this substance abuse epidemic. With these new funds, the Court will be able to help more people get their lives back on track."
