Hoeven Announces More Than $400,000 In Housing Grants to Support North Dakota Native American Veterans

Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded a total of $408,120 in Tribal HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (HUD-VASH) grants to the Standing Rock and Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians tribes. Standing Rock received $234,178 and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians received $173,942.

"We need to ensure that North Dakota's veterans and our Native American veterans continue to have access to safe and affordable housing," Hoeven said. "Today's grants will help secure housing and assistance for Native American veterans from the Standing Rock tribe and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. It is through grants like these that we can do our part to help those who have served and sacrificed so much for our country."
