Today U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis (WY-at large) voted against approving President Obama's proposed deal with Iran and voted to protect sanctions on Iran from being arbitrarily lifted by the President until January 2017.
"What we know of President Obama's proposed deal with Iran is egregious and will lead to a nuclear armed Iran," said Rep. Lummis. "Iran is the leading state sponsor of terror in the world and cannot be trusted so any deal with Iran must be built on verification. The blind trust that President Obama's deal places in Iran, ceding verification, and even allowing them to self inspect suspected nuclear warhead development sites is outrageous. This deal is an historic mistake and must be rejected."
President Obama's proposed deal with Iran would:
Leave American citizens unjustly imprisoned in Iran.
Allow the Iranians to self inspect suspected nuclear warhead development sites.
Allow Iran to continue nuclear research.
Give Iran up to $150 billion in previously frozen assets.
Lift ballistic missile restrictions on Iran in 8 years.
Lift all nuclear development restriction on Iran in 15 years leaving Iran a breakout time of days.
