Governor Hassan's Statement on NHDES Approval of Balsams Wetlands Permit

Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement on the announcement that the Balsams redevelopment project received its Wetlands Permit from the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services:

"The Balsams redevelopment project is a bold vision for the revitalization of a historic resort, with great potential to create jobs, boost the North Country's economy and have a ripple effect across the state. Each step of this process has represented our strong tradition of collective-problem solving in the Granite State, and I applaud everyone - from Les Otten and the development team, to state and local government and elected officials from both parties, to environmental advocates and all other stakeholders -- for their work together to keep this critical economic development project moving forward."
