Sanders Statement on Clean Water Act

Statement

Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Environment

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) issued the following statement today after voting to stop a bill that guts the Clean Water Act.

"I find it unconscionable that my Republican colleagues are attempting to undermine efforts to keep our water clean. One in three people -- 117 million Americans -- depend on drinking water from sources protected by the Clean Water Rule. Clean water protections are essential to safeguarding our nation's public health and our economic prosperity."
