Gov. Scott: Jacksonville Area Added More Than 16,000 Jobs Over the Year

Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the Jacksonville area gained 16,300 new jobs over the year in November. The Jacksonville area's unemployment rate declined by 1.0 percentage point over the year to 4.7 percent in November. Florida businesses across the state have added more than 1 million private-sector jobs since December 2010.

Governor Scott said, "I am proud to announce that the Jacksonville area added over 16,000 new jobs over the year in November. The creation of more than one million jobs in five years, as well as this tremendous economic growth in Northeast Florida, is putting Florida on track to becoming first for jobs."
