Today, Governor Rick Scott announced that the West Palm Beach area added 12,800 jobs over the year in November. The area's unemployment rate declined by 0.6 percentage point over the year to 4.6 percent in November. Florida businesses across the state have added more than 1 million private-sector jobs since December 2010.
Governor Scott said, "I am proud to announce that the West Palm Beach area created over 12,000 new jobs over the year. The unemployment rate also continues to decline and local families are enjoying a thriving economy with numerous opportunities because of our focus on cutting taxes and diversifying the economy. Florida has added more than one million jobs in only five years, and we won't stop until Florida is first for jobs."
