Gov. Scott: Fort Lauderdale Area Added 27,000 Jobs Over the Year

Today, Governor Rick Scott announced that the Fort Lauderdale area gained 27,000 jobs over the year in November. The Fort Lauderdale area's unemployment rate declined by 0.9 percentage point over the year to 4.5 percent in November. Florida businesses across the state have added more than 1 million private-sector jobs since December 2010.

Governor Scott said, "The Fort Lauderdale area continues to be a destination for job growth, adding 27,000 jobs over the last year. We are working every day to make Florida first for job growth, and with more than one million jobs created in only five years, it is clear that we are closer than ever to meeting that goal."
