Schumer on Cox Nomination to be SEC Chairman
Today, President Bush formally nominated Congressman Christopher Cox to be the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Below is a statement from Senator Schumer, a senior member of the Banking and Finance Committees:
"History has shown that markets and business function best when there is a careful balance between full-throttle entrepreneurship and thoughtful regulation. The best SEC Chairmen have been both pro-business and pro-regulation. It is my hope that Chris Cox will continue in that tradition."
