Diaz-Balart: Republicans Busy Passing Policies That Help Minorities

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) today responded to Democrat National Committee chair Howard Dean's characterization of Republicans as a party of white Christians.

"Is this same Howard Dean who was criticized by Al Sharpton for not having any minorities on his [campaign] staff?" Diaz-Balart said. "While the Democrats' chair continues to open mouth and insert foot, Republicans are busy passing policies that help minorities - unlike the lip service others have been selling the Hispanic community for years."

"All of Dean's screams can't hide the facts: Republicans are the party of inclusion and action while Democrats are the party of division and obstruction," Diaz-Balart continued. "And to that end, Democrats are losing Hispanics in South Carolina and Oklahoma and Arizona and North Dakota and New Mexico and then in California and Texas and South Dakota and Oregon and Michigan and Florida - feel free to insert scream here."
