Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Appointed to Transportation Conference Committee

House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) has appointed Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.) as a member of the conference committee on H.R. 3 - The Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users. Diaz-Balart joins 37 other Republican conferees and is one of only three from Florida.

"This is a great honor to be appointed to such an important conference committee," Diaz-Balart said. "We need to make sure the conference produces a comprehensive highway bill that meets our nation's transportation needs. This legislation is vital to Florida, and I look forward to working with fellow conferees on this important bill."
