U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued this statement following reports the Obama Administration has appealed the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals decision upholding the injunction against the President's executive action on immigration to the Supreme Court:
"The President clearly acted outside the law when he went around Congress to unilaterally change our nation's immigration laws, and I'm confident the State of Texas will ultimately prevail in this case.
"Instead of trying to defend an unconstitutional executive order as he winds down his time in office, the President should work with Congress to secure our borders and improve our immigration laws."
