Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the Pensacola area created 3,600 new jobs over the year in October. The Pensacola area's unemployment rate declined by 0.7 percentage point over the year to 4.8 percent in October. Florida businesses have added 978,800 private-sector jobs since December 2010.

Governor Scott said, "It is great news to see Pensacola's unemployment rate continue to drop, and it is now at less than five percent. This exciting drop is because more businesses are choosing Florida over any other state to expand and create jobs for our families."
