Gov. Scott: Orlando Area Continues to Lead the State in Job Gains

Today, Governor Rick Scott announced that the Orlando area gained 43,000 new jobs over the year in October, the highest number of new jobs among all Florida metro areas for 33 consecutive months. Orlando's unemployment rate declined by 0.9 percentage point over the year to 4.6 percent in October. Florida businesses have added 978,800 private-sector jobs since December 2010.

Governor Scott said, "Orlando has led the state's metro areas in job creation for almost three years, and Central Florida's growing economy is great news for local businesses and families. I look forward to seeing even more success in Orlando as Florida continues on the path to becoming first for jobs."
