Barrasso Introduces Resolution to Honor Native American Heritage Month

U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-WY), chairman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, introduced a Senate resolution to recognize the month of November as National Native American Heritage Month. The resolution celebrates the heritages and cultures of Native Americans and recognizes their many contributions to the United States. The resolution was unanimously passed by the Senate.

"National Native American Heritage Month celebrates and honors the diverse cultures, histories, and traditions of American Indians," Chairman Barrasso said. "Let's use this time as an opportunity to reflect on the many contributions Native Americans have made to our nation, and the sovereign government-to-government relationship the United States maintains with tribes."
