Date: July 27, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Today, Congressman Lee Zeldin (R-NY), member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced that he introduced a bipartisan bill, the Safe Bridges Act (H.R. 3168), with Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY).

"Our roads, overpasses, and bridges are essential to the Long Island economy and our community's safety," said Congressman Lee Zeldin. "Unfortunately, much of our region's infrastructure is in need of additional support. As a member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I am proud to introduce this bipartisan bill that will reform federal highway law to make our critical overpasses and bridges once again eligible for needed federal funding. Providing states and local governments more flexibility and the resources necessary to strengthen our infrastructure will improve transportation safety, job creation, and our overall economy."
