Nuclear Cleanup Caucus Hosts DOE Assistant Secretary Regalbuto

Statement

The House Nuclear Cleanup Caucus held a meeting and panel discussion on Wednesday, September 30 to discuss the environmental management (EM) mission. The caucus meeting featured remarks by the new Department of Energy Assistant Secretary Dr. Monica Regalbuto, who is charged with leading the department's EM mission, a number of Congressional members and a panel discussion of environment management leaders. The meeting was put on in collaboration with the Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG), the Energy Technology and Environmental Business Association (ETEBA), and the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI).

"We had another successful Caucus meeting and once again drew a capacity crowd," Rep. Chuck Fleischmann, Chairman of the House Nuclear Cleanup Caucus, stated. "It was great to have Assistant Secretary Regalbuto here and we're grateful she decided to make this one of her first events as Assistant Secretary. With each meeting we continue to grow and strengthen our EM community while working toward our ultimate cleanup goals."
