Senate Passes Bill to Reverse EPA's Unprecedented Waterways Regulation

Statement

Date: Nov. 4, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) issued the following statement after a joint resolution of disapproval of the Environmental Protection Agency's "Waters of the U.S." (WOTUS) rule, which he cosponsored, passed the Senate:

"Texas farmers, ranchers and landowners have time and again found themselves in the crosshairs of this Administration, and the EPA's draconian rule regulating our nation's waterways is no different. Today a bipartisan coalition sent a strong message by voting to overturn this unprecedented federal land grab and level the playing field for hardworking Texans across the state."
