Today, Governor Scott made the following statement in regards to the six U.S. airmen killed yesterday when a U.S. Air Force C-130 transport plane crashed at Jalalabad Airfield, Afghanistan. Senior Airman Nathan C. Sartain, 29, of Pensacola, Florida was among the victims aboard the aircraft. He was deployed to the 455th Air Expeditionary Wing in Afghanistan.
Governor Rick Scott said, "Senior Airman Nathan Sartain, and the five other U.S. airmen who lost their lives defending our freedom, are American heroes. Ann and I are saddened to hear of this tragedy that took the lives of our courageous military members, including a Floridian who was serving to protect our country. May God give the loved ones of each fallen airmen strength and peace as they mourn. I stand with all Floridians as we honor the sacrifices of these brave airmen."
