Congresswoman Chellie Pingree issued the following statement after voting for a two-year federal budget agreement. The deal passed the U.S. House this afternoon on a bipartisan vote.
"This deal addresses a number of important issues--like Medicare premiums, Social Security disability benefits and the arbitrary sequester cuts--and it passed with strong bipartisan support. It's much better for the economy and working families if we can come to these kind of bipartisan agreements instead of facing a manufactured fiscal crisis every few months."
