Gov. John Hickenlooper issued the following statement in response to Arne Duncan's announcement that he will resign as Secretary of Education later this year:

"No one has worked harder on behalf of America's kids than Arne Duncan. He promoted higher standards and expanding early childhood education so that all children, regardless of their zip code, have a more equal chance at success. His integrity and courage on education reform has been unwavering. He always put our kids above politics. We are grateful for his partnership and support of Colorado."
