Van Hollen Statement on Benghazi Hearing

Statement

Date: Oct. 22, 2015
Location: Washington, DC

Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen released the following statement on today's Select Committee on Benghazi hearing:

"As the son of a foreign service officer, I know the great risks these unsung heroes take on a daily basis. Public servants like Ambassador Stevens put their lives on the line for the greater good. Their sacrifice should be honored, not politicized. Multiple bipartisan investigations in both the House and Senate have thoroughly examined the Benghazi attack and delivered actionable recommendations to increase safety for those serving abroad. It's time to end the shameful exploitation of this tragedy and move forward on the many pressing issues facing the country."
