U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), Chairman of the House Rules Committee and a Member of House Republican Leadership, today released the following statement regarding the September unemployment report:

"Today's disappointing jobs report shows that the so-called recovery over the last six years continues to be hampered by President Obama's big government liberal policies. Real, sustainable economic growth can only be led by the free market, not by Washington. America's families and small businesses deserve better.

"I believe we can and must do more to pave the way for hard-working families to achieve the American dream. I remain committed to working to implement common sense conservative solutions to put Americans back to work."
