Congressman Brett Guthrie today issued the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 3009, the Enforce the Law for Sanctuary Cities Act:
"Our nation's immigration system is in great need of repair, and the recent shooting of Kathryn Steinle in California only makes that more evident. Today's vote is a response to that tragic event and hopefully, a precursor to broader efforts that reform our immigration laws. I continue to believe that a serious discussion on immigration reform must start with securing our border."
