Stutzman Statement on House Speaker Election

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued the following statement today following the announcement that House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy will no longer be a candidate for Speaker and that the election has been postponed.

"Like most of my colleagues, Kevin's announcement to drop out of the race for Speaker came as a surprise. What remains obvious is that we must continue to strive for the best conservative leader to help unify, listen to, and guide our conference through our continuing policy challenges. I intend to stay actively engaged in this process moving forward," Stutzman said.
