U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued the following statement today following the failure of the U.S. Senate yesterday to invoke cloture on H.R. 36 -- the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, of which he is a cosponsor.
"I am extremely disappointed in the outcome of the Senate vote yesterday. It is medically proven that at 20-weeks in the womb babies can feel pain and yet the U.S. remains only one of seven countries to still allow these awful procedures after the fifth month. When will Democrats accept this medical fact and put an end to this terrible practice?"
