Stutzman Joins Majority of House, Rejects President Obama's Iran Deal

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman issued this statement today following House debate on three measures regarding President Obama's nuclear deal with Iran:

"This week the House voted with the majority of the American people and Hoosiers from all across the state to reject President Obama's dangerous deal with Iran, said Stutzman. The president's agreement does nothing to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon, enables the regime to acquire deadly ICBM technology, and provides Iran with tens of billions of dollars in sanctions relief that will undoubtedly be used to fund terrorism and those focused on wiping our ally Israel from the map.

"By first not designating this agreement as a treaty and then failing to deliver the text of so-called "side deals" to Congress, this president has once again demonstrated his contempt for his constitutional responsibilities and the American people's chosen representatives in Congress. Instead of searching for his legacy, the president should place the safety of the American people as his highest priority. I wholeheartedly oppose this deal and urge my colleagues in the Senate to go on the record doing the same."
