Today, Congressman Doug Collins voted "Yes" on the Small Bank Exam Cycle Reform Act of 2015. Congressman Collins issued the following statement after the vote:
"Small financial institutions are critical providers of credit for individuals and small businesses all across the country. H.R. 1553 provides regulatory relief by allowing more small banks to be examined by the Federal Deposit Insurance Association on an 18-month cycle, which reduces the cost and burden of supervision, and allows them to focus their resources on the neighborhoods where their customers live. In rural Northeast Georgia, locally owned banks provide valuable financial resources and a personal touch to customers. "
