Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) today issued the following statement after he voted to block legislation that would have prohibited certain abortions:

"Republicans should stop politicizing the right of women in this country to control their own bodies. The decision to end a pregnancy should be made in consultation with a doctor without interference or judgment from politicians."
