Congressman Lieu Announces Lottery for Papal Visit Tickets

Today, Congressman Ted W. Lieu (D -- Los Angeles) announced that his office will conduct a public lottery to distribute tickets to see His Holiness Pope Francis during his visit to Washington, D.C. later this month.

"On Thursday, September 24, 2015, His Holiness Pope Francis of the Holy See, will address a Joint Meeting of Congress in the Hall of the House of Representatives. This historic event will be among several stops Pope Francis will make while on his six-day tour of the United States. As a Member of the United States House of Representatives, I have received a limited number of tickets for constituents to stand and view the televised speech on jumbotrons on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Pope Francis's visit will mark an important moment not only for Catholics but for all Americans, which is why I will be holding a lottery to distribute these tickets to constituents."
