The right to bear arms is one of our most basic rights in the United States, a right that our Founding Fathers clearly defined in the Constitution. The Second Amendment protects the right to bear arms for all law abiding citizens whether for self-defense, hunting or recreation.
I have always been a strong believer that an armed citizenry is a free citizenry. Although gun control proponents constantly try to take away our right to bear arms, the simple fact is a clear majority of Americans support gun rights. I will not support an assault weapons ban, a universal gun registry or any other initiatives that violate our Second Amendment rights. Statistics have proven that banning certain weapons and instituting stricter anti-gun policies have no effect on curbing violence.
I promise to continue to be a strong and proud supporter of the Second Amendment, and I will fight every effort to infringe upon these rights.
