Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen issued the following statement on the data breach at the Office of Personnel Management:
"Today's Senate hearing with OPM Director Archuleta, coupled with the Inspector General's report and the news that as many as 18 million Americans could be impacted by this breach, leave us with more questions and concerns than answers and action. This massive OPM data breach reveals serious issues at the agency, both in infrastructure and management, that must be addressed immediately. I urge Director Archuleta to also remember that millions of people, many of whom I represent, are directly impacted by this breach. OPM needs to put in place a better system to help those whose vital information was exposed and ensure they are protected from future abuse."
