Hoeven Announces More Than $1.4 Million in HUD Grants for North Dakota

Senator John Hoeven today announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded more than $1.4 million in housing grants to 15 housing authorities across North Dakota. The funds are made available through the Public Housing Operating Fund which helps local housing authorities support vulnerable low- and extremely low-income families.

The awards are as follows:

Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority: $481,533

Burleigh County Housing Authority: $272,564

Minot Housing Authority: $182,258

Housing Authority of Cass County: $131,582

Rolette County Housing Authority: $78,125

Housing Authority of the City of Williston: $71,439

Ramsey County Housing Authority: $37,837

Traill County Housing Authority: $31,987

Mercer County Housing Authority: $31,812

Nelson County Housing Authority: $29,909

Barnes County Housing Authority: $23,534

Towner County Housing Authority: $17,388

Emmons County Housing Authority: $13,579

Benson County Housing Authority: $9,490

McIntosh County Housing Authority: $4,471

Total: $1,412,983

"A place to live is a fundamental need," Hoeven said. "These grants help North Dakotans find an affordable place to live and raise a family throughout our state."

Senator Hoeven serves on the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee where he works to support the Public Housing Operating Fund and other HUD programs that empower the efforts of local housing authorities to eliminate homelessness, including veteran's homelessness.
