Murphy Statement On Louisiana Theater Shooting

Today, U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) released the following statement regarding Thursday night's fatal shooting at a movie theater in Lafayette, Louisiana:

"I'm praying for the victims, their loved ones, and the entire Lafayette community as they begin to try to understand and cope with the realities of last night's tragic shooting," said Murphy. "Another community has been changed forever. More mothers, more fathers, more brothers and sisters, friends, and loved ones must now bear the grueling pain and grief of gun violence. We're going to figure out what went wrong and how this happened, and I'm committed to taking every necessary step to prevent this from happening again; I hope Congress is ready to join me."
