Senate Unanimously Passes Ayotte Ovarian Cancer Resolution

The Senate today unanimously approved a resolution introduced by U.S. Senators Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) and Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) designating September as "National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month."

"I am pleased that the Senate is helping to raise awareness about ovarian cancer by passing this resolution. As the deadliest of all gynecologic cancers and a disease that lacks adequate early detection testing, ovarian cancer is one of the leading killers of women in the U.S. and around the world," said Senator Ayotte. "Designating September as National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month will help bring greater attention to the importance of supporting research on early detection methods and boosting prevention efforts, potentially helping to save the lives of countless women."
