PROVIDER APPRECIATION DAY
MAY 6, 2005
WHEREAS, quality early childhood services, such as child care, represent a valuable investment in our children's future, as well as the future of our state; and
WHEREAS, North Dakota citizens will join parents and organizations nationwide in recognizing child care providers, teachers and educators for their efforts in caring for the children of working parents and providing them with quality early childhood experiences; and
WHEREAS, of the 21 million children under age 6 in America, 13 million are in early care and learning programs at least part time, and an additional 24 million school-age children are in some form of child care outside of school time; and
WHEREAS, by calling attention to the importance of quality early care and learning services, North Dakota Child Care Providers is working with other organizations across the state to enhance the quality and availability of such services; and
WHEREAS, North Dakotans are encouraged to recognize child care providers throughout the state for their dedication to providing quality care and learning services, and for the important role they play in our children's future; and
NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim
May 6, 2005, PROVIDER APPRECIATION DAY in the state of North Dakota.
