Proclamation - Farmers Union Youth Week

FARMERS UNION YOUTH WEEK
MAY 2-6, 2005

WHEREAS, the youth of our state are our most valuable resource; and
WHEREAS, enhancing leadership abilities in our young people will build visionary leaders for North Dakota's future; and
WHEREAS, educating young people on the role of cooperatives is important to growing our state's agriculture industry and overall economy; and
WHEREAS, North Dakota Farmers Union is celebrating 75 years of its youth program which strives to develop visionary rural leaders through interactive programs; and
WHEREAS, Farmers Union members have developed cooperative and community leaders through education classes and a statewide summer camping program that involves more than 2,400 youth each year; and
NOW, THEREFORE, as Governor of the State of North Dakota, I do hereby proclaim May 2-6, 2005, FARMERS UNION YOUTH WEEK in the state of North Dakota.
