Gov. Ricketts Named Member of the National Governors Association Education and Workforce Committee

Today, Governor Pete Ricketts announced that he had been named a member of the National Governors Association (NGA) Education and Workforce Committee by NGA Chair Utah Governor Gary Herbert and NGA Vice Chair Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe.

The Education and Workforce Committee handles issues dealing with education (including early childhood, K-12 and postsecondary) and workforce development. Members of the committee ensure that governors' views are represented in the shaping of federal policy.

"The NGA Education and Workforce Committee is a great way help move two of my administration's top priorities forward, expanding educational opportunities and growing jobs," said Governor Ricketts. "Working together with other governors, my administration is able to influence federal legislation and regulations that impact the lives of Nebraskans."
