Statement

Dear Friends,

It's been a busy week.

Earlier this week, I questioned DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson on the legitimacy of so called "sanctuary cities". I didn't appreciate his answer. Our nation's immigration laws should be fully enforced, and we won't accept anything less.

On Tuesday, I testified before the House Committee on Veteran's Affairs on my bill, the Newborn Care Improvement Act, which will double the amount of time children born to female veterns can receive newborn care. We always should be looking for ways to better serve our veterans, not turn them away from the very facilities designed to serve them.

I also had choice words for President Obama and Secretary Kerry on the Iran deal. Congress now has a 60-day period to review the Iran nuclear agreement, which I have strongly opposed from the beginning.

We expect a lot to happen in the big push before August, so stay tuned to my website and social media pages for the latest updates.

In closing, my thoughts are with the families of the four Marines killed in Chattanooga, Tennessee yesterday. Lance Cpl. Skip Wells, of Atlanta, was one of the fallen. I hope you will join me in lifting all four men up in prayer.

Sincerely,

Doug Collins
Member of Congress
