U.S. Senators John Boozman and Tom Cotton--along with Congressmen Rick Crawford and Bruce Westerman--today announced that 12 Arkansas airports have been awarded more than $3 million from the Department of Transportation to support facility upgrades and expansions.
"This investment in Arkansas airports will improve economic development in our state. These upgrades are important for long-term growth and job creation," Boozman said.
"Local airports play a critical role in Arkansas's economy. These upgrades ensure they will be able to maintain that role for years to come," Cotton said.
"Local businesses and tourism need access to updated airport infrastructure in order to flourish. These improvements will encourage economic growth and increase connectivity throughout our state," Crawford said.
"I am pleased these grants are coming home to Arkansas. Without strong infrastructure, we cannot expect our economy to grow. This investment Hempstead, Sevier, and Yell Counties will help these communities add jobs and opportunity," Westerman said.
