Today’s combination of economic anxiety and social unease brings an urgency to the political moment – and a unique opportunity for leadership. The greater political necessity — and opportunity — today is to address the root causes of the challenges so many Americans face (the very challenges Black and brown Americans have faced for generations), and to unite us in doing so. Meeting these challenges requires a renewed sense of national community and of generational responsibility.
