The overly partisan and secretive manner in which both parties have draw districts has eroded faith and confidence in North Carolina�s elections. Letting politicians drew their own district lines is a conflict of interest. Lawmakers effectively select their own constituents. This result is low voter turnout. Districts engineered to guarantee election of a Democrat or Republican also results in half of the seats in the General Assembly being uncontested. | |||
