Planned Parenthood's many life saving services are provided across our nation, to some of our most vulnerable people. Abortion should be safe and legal. Effective, accessible and widespread family planning will benefit everyone and continue to reduce the number of abortions that occur. | |||

| A single Air Force F-35A costs $148 million. One Marine Corps F-35B costs an unbelievable $251 million. A lone Navy F-35C costs a mind-boggling $337 million. Average the three models together, and a ?generic? F-35 costs $178 million. Why are we spending so much money on out-dated aircraft? Why are we building fighters that need pilots instead of fighter drones that could do more, carry a bigger payload and not need a pilot who costs millions of dollars to train? We could save billions of dollars, keep our Country safer and build more fighters, just by reforming this one program. | |||

| Big money rules politics. Citizens United helped clear the way for the reality where politicians write and vote for legislation that appeases corporate and wealthy donors, not their constituents. These few powerful donors have a huge influence over our laws and taxation systems, just because they invest in campaigns. That is why I accept campaign donations only from individuals. If you can get access to a Congressperson your chances of influencing them increases. Money = Access; Access = Influence; and Influence = Power Those are three simple equations that wealthy donors, corporations and special interests know all too well. | |||

| I would lower corporate taxes but not to 21%. I would reduce it to 25% and would also get rid of many of the the current corporate deductions and credits. | I pledged to support HR 3671 (which lays out a path to transition away from fossil fuels, to 100% clean energy, by 2035), because climate change is real, it's man-made and my biggest fear is that we are already too late to keep the global temperature rise under two degrees Celsius. Climate change will adversely affect agriculture, forests and low lying coastal cities. We no longer have the luxury of procrastinating on dealing with climate change. We must act immediately and aggressively to get off fossil fuels and HR 3671 lays out a clear and viable way to do that. | |||

| I am in favor of: -universal background checks for all gun purchases, -an assault weapon ban, -restrictions on the number of rounds that can be carried in a clip, -outlawing armor piercing rounds and -outlawing bump stocks. We must institute common sense safety measures that will help lower the number of gun related deaths. To that end, I would also support gun licensing programs. I have no problem with people owning a firearm to hunt or to defend themselves. I started hunting when I was 12 and I still hunt. I was in the Army and qualified with the M-16. | |||

| Our last 17 years of involvement in the Middle East has caused a lot of loss of life (on all sides) and has cost us trillions of dollars. Our presence in the region is a catalyst for Al Qaida and ISIS and achieves nothing that is worth the cost. I am a firm believer in and advocate for the Powell Doctrine so all of the questions enumerated in that Doctrine would have to be answered clearly and affirmatively before I would approve any military action is taken by the United States. | |||
| I want to get big money out of politics (or at least neutralize it) so that people elected to office will actually represent their constituents, not their big dollar, special interest, corporate campaign donors. I would do this with public financing of elections. The federal government would give each registered voter $50 with which the registered voter can only use to contribute to any candidate or ballot issue (s)he can vote for. The funding for this would come from the money saved by allowing the federal government to directly negotiate drug prices under Medicare Part D. |
