I have always viewed military force as an option of last resort in dealing with hostile governments. At the same time, I do not support putting more US boots on the ground in the Middle East. We must engage with our allies in the region to find diplomatic solutions where we can, and we must invest in economic and human development projects that stabilize the region.
The biggest economic challenge of our time is that people are in jobs that do not pay them enough to live on. People are struggling to keep up with the rising costs of healthcare, childcare, housing, and food. I am fighting every day to increase people?s wages and create more good-paying jobs with benefits?like healthcare and retirement security. That also includes making sure children and young adults get a good education, and workers have access to pay equity, paid sick days, paid family and medical leave, and predictable schedules.
