| Pro-choice | Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation? | ||
| No | Do you support the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade? | ||
| At no point is a politician more qualified than a doctor nor have a voice that outweighs the rights of a woman to make her healthcare decisions. | |||
| Yes | Do you support expanding federal funding to support social safety net programs such as Social Security and Medicare? | ||
| No | Do you support a decrease in income taxes in order to balance the budget? | ||
| Yes | Do you support a wealth tax in order to pay for public programs? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations, unions, and individuals? | ||
| No | Do you support protecting government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct? | ||
| Not in matters of gross misconduct. | |||
| No | Do you support increasing defense spending? | ||
| Not at this time. I do believe that we should have a strong defense capability and military. I also believe that there is too much waste and overspending on government contracts that need to be addressed, which will also free up additional defense funds already budgeted. | |||
| Yes | Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth (e.g. grants, tax incentives)? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the federal government increasing funding for affordable housing programs? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the federal government taking action, beyond those of the Federal Reserve, to alleviate inflation? | ||
| Yes, to all three questions but would ultimately depend on the specific legislation or scenario. | |||
| Yes | Do you support the forgiveness of federal student loan debt? | ||
| Most, if not all, student loan forgiveness is forgiving the additional interest that is being charged once the principle that was originally borrowed has been paid back. It is a misconception and deceptive to claim that students are getting free college degrees and not having to pay back what they borrowed. By forgiving student loan debt, we are opening up huge numbers of citizens that can help boost our economy with the hundreds of dollars they are saving each month. Plus, it can help address the unaffordability crisis that many are facing without having to spend additional federal funds or budget allocation. | |||
| No | Do you support requiring a government-issued identification in order to vote at the polls? | ||
| I support confirming a voter's identity and their eligibility to vote. The issue with requiring a driver's license is that it blocks a portion of the people from being able to vote. Some states have driver's license fees or requirements that make it problematic for poor and low resource citizens to vote when they otherwise would. | |||
| Yes | Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the federal government allowing permits for drilling on public lands? | ||
| Yes, to both as I am open to both of those positions, but it would greatly depend on the specifics. I do not support government funding for development of renewable energy sources if the costs will eventually be charged to consumers while the company behind the renewable energy rakes in profits. I would support drilling on public lands that are not protected or there would be considerable impacts to the local environment. | |||
| Yes | Do you generally support gun-control legislation (e.g. red flag laws, boyfriend loopholes)? | ||
| I support gun responsibility laws that keep guns out of the hands of those that are dangerous to themselves and others and ensure that gun owners safely store their weapons. While these laws will not eliminate gun violence, I do believe they will significantly reduce gun violence and death without infringing on the Second Amendment rights of citizens. | |||
| Yes | Do you support a government-run (e.g. single-payer) healthcare program, such as Medicare-for-All? | ||
| Yes | Do you support expanding paid family AND/OR medical leave benefits (e.g. maternity leave)? | ||
| Yes | Should the government be able to regulate the cost of prescription drugs? | ||
| Yes | Do you support increasing security along the southern US border? | ||
| No | Do you support requiring immigrants to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship, regardless of their immigration status? | ||
| I support increased funding for border security, increased technology at the border, and increased funding for immigration judges and administration. I do not support requiring immigrants to return to their country of origin if they would qualify for asylum. | |||
| Yes | Do you support economic intervention as a means of resolving international conflicts? | ||
| Yes | Do you support the US providing increased offensive military aid to Ukraine? | ||
| Providing military funds, aid, and economic intervention are ways that we can promote our national security aims without risking American lives. | |||
| Yes | Do you generally support increased regulations on social media companies (e.g. Tik Tok, Facebook, etc.)? | ||
| I believe that SOME regulations by the government to protect the well-being and security of the people and the country. I only believe in regulations on social media companies, or any companies, that fall into those goals. | |||
| My top priorities would be to ensure that a woman's right to make her own healthcare decisions are protected at the federal level, including protecting access to birth control and IVF. I want to ensure that we safeguard Medicare and Social Security so that our workers have the ability to retire with dignity one day. This would include having corporations and the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share of taxes. I also want to work on solutions that will solve the unaffordability crisis that is hitting many Americans right now. Our economy is booming but working and middle class families are not seeing that because of the inflated costs being passed on to consumers--all while corporations are recording record profits. |
